History - Manufacture Germany

In the post-war period, Harold's mainly produced bags for other brands. These contract productions formed the basis for the establishment of the company's own Harold's bag brand in the sixties and seventies. In the seventies, however, industrial customers increasingly began to move abroad. The process continued into the nineties. From around 1995, only finishing and repair work was carried out in Obertshausen. The remaining handicraft service, however, secured our know-how and the whereabouts of the most important sewing machines and production tools. In the long-standing cooperation with our partners in India and Colombia, we were able to expand our know-how.

We learned to what extent local, cultural and historical conditions can influence the production of bags. Since 2010 we have resumed the production of bags in our own manufactory in Obertshausen. We focus on models that take local conditions into account in a systematic way. The models result from an intersection of simple design, material availability, local cost structures, regionality and individual treatment during manufacturing. We produce authentically local bags that can only be created in this form and expression in our own workshop.
