General care instructions
In general, we use open-pored leather with a few exceptions. The open-pored nature creates a self-care effect of the leather in use, which is caused by friction, light and especially by the sebum of the hands: the bag gets a patina and thus becomes an unmistakable unique piece. The patina effect is stronger or weaker depending on the surface finish. Glossy leather (the surface is somewhat closed by a kind of mechanical smoothing) changes more slowly, while completely open-pored leather shows an intense patina effect. The only important thing is to make sure that the leather does not dry out. This happens especially if the bag is not used, is exposed to strong sunlight for a long time, gets hot (e.g. behind a window pane) or gets wet or knocked off more often during use (corners and edges). Then care should be taken.
Care products
Leather wax or leather oil mainly strengthen the leather fiber and pores. As the substances penetrate deep to nourish the leather from the inside, the color of the leather may change slightly. The possible change of the leather due to the treatment weakens again in the course. Please test the effect of the treatment first on a concealed area (e.g. the bottom of the bag).
Impregnation spray
Suitable for superficial treatment of the leather and especially for short-term increase of UV protection.
Care instructions
The more oily the spray, the more lasting and durable the increased UV protection. However, the more oil-containing the spray, the more the color changes. However, the change decreases again as it progresses. Please test the effect of the treatment first in a concealed place (e.g. at the bottom of the bag). Recommendation for use: In general, the rule "less is more" applies.
